Gecko
Gecko
A turn-based, gravity-driven puzzle-platformer. You play as a sticky frog, and lunch is flies. Eat every fly on a level to win: walk, climb walls and ceilings, let go and fall, and use your tongue.
Built in Godot 4.6. Art from the CC0 Kenney New Platformer Pack.
Goal
Eat every fly to solve the level! No timer, no score, just the puzzle. Undo is unlimited and restart is one key, so poke at it freely.
Controls
| Action | Keys | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Move / aim | Arrows or W A S D | Walk, climb a wall, wrap a ledge, or turn to aim |
| Jump / let go | hold the direction away from your surface, then release | Spring off a floor or wall. Nowhere to go? You bonk and drop instead. There is no separate drop key |
| Tongue / Place | Space or E | Mouth empty: flick the tongue. Mouth full: place what you hold |
| Throw | hold Space or E | Mouth full: hurl the held box, bomb, or item |
| Undo | Z | Step back one move |
| Restart | R | Reset the level |
| Auto-solve | P | Watch the solver play it. Any key cancels |
| Next | Space, Enter, or N | Advance after a solve |
| Pause / back | Esc | Pause, or return to the editor |
Co-op (two players, one keyboard)
Two frogs on the same board, one cluster of keys each. Turns are taken one at a time in the order you press, so nobody has to wait their turn out loud. Undo, restart and solve are shared: either player can rewind the whole board.
| Player | Move / aim | Tongue / Place / Throw |
|---|---|---|
| P1 (green) | W A S D | Space |
| P2 (orange) | Arrows | Enter |
Either player's action key also advances to the next level once the last fly is gone.
